Trademarks- Classification of Goods and services
Trademarks must specify the type of goods covered by the
mark and similarly, servicemarks must specify the type of
services covered by the mark. The United States, and other
countries,
use
an International Classification
system,
which divides all goods and services into 45 "International
Classes."
When filing a trademark application, you must indicate the
goods and/or services for your mark. You can also identify
the specific class(es) covered by your mark. Depending upon
the type of application being filed, you can identify the
sources yourself. When our law firm prepares a new trademark
application, we will work with you to identify which international
classes are covered by your application.
